JL’s Home Hardware, which hosted May Mulch Month, saw $1 from each bag of mulch sold throughout May donated to CSGW, and $2 per bag sold May 4 while volunteers were onsite to help load the mulch. The total funds raised is $1,776.

JL’s Home Hardware owner Andre Belisle, left, is joined by CSGW Vice Chair Lowell Butts to announce $1,776 was raised at this year’s Guelph mulch sale.

Young’s Home Hardware in Mount Forest once again hosted the sale, this year held on May 11th. The terrific weather ensured a strong turnout. Once again this year, Marty generously donated all proceeds from the sale of the mulch. Supports of CSGW also bumped up the coffers with generous donations for a grand total of $3,461.

Marty Young, left, and CSGW Past Chair Deryck West announce that the Mount Forest Mulch Sale raised $3,461.

The CSGW Board of Directors thanks Andre and Marty for their generous and ongoing support of the program through these fundraising campaigns. They also express appreciation to all the loyal customers who look forward to this annual spring event and support CSGW.

Fundraising is a crucial component of CSGW. Fundraising pays for Tipster rewards as well as operate the program. Resources to promote the program, such as posters, pens, note pads and rack cards are all purchased with fundraised dollars.
