County of Wellington/Wellington County OPP Property Auction BBQ a Hit for CSGW

Parr Auctions was once again the setting for the 2018 County of Wellington/Wellington County OPP Property Auction, benefitting Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW), on June 14.

The auction is the opportunity for police to empty out property vaults once investigations are concluded, and they are not able to return property to the rightful owners.

Numerous items, including a wide range of bicycles, were on offer and quickly snapped up by auction-goers. While the amount raised at the auction is not yet known, the CSGW/Piller Meats Barbecue set a new record in funds donated. Each year reps from Piller Meats set up their tent and barbecue to prepare sausages for hungry bidders. For a free-will donation, customers could receive a fresh sausage and a beverage.

This year, generous patrons donated $872 to CSGW. These funds will help pay tipster rewards and generate program awareness.

The County of Wellington releases the amount raised through the auction in the fall with a cheque presentation to CSGW.
