2018 Bucket Sale the most successful to date

The 2018 Bucket Sale in partnership with Young’s Home Hardware in Mount Forest was the most successful year to date!

With more than 250 buckets snapped up by savvy shoppers on December 1, the funds raised totalled $1,283.10 for Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW). This is the fourth year of the event, and with the first two years being two-day events, and the third being a one-day event, the 2018 sale is the most successful to date.

From left, CSGW Board Member Rob Mattice and Young’s Home Hardware owner Marty Young announce the total amount raised at the 2018 Bucket Sale while CSGW Program Coordinator Sarah Bowers-Peter looks on.

The Bucket Sale is a simple concept; donate $5 or more to CSGW and you receive a Home Hardware bucket. Regular priced items that fit in the bucket qualify for a 20% discount upon checkout. With very few items not qualifying for the Bucket Sale, most items at Young’s Home Hardware were on sale.

The partnership with Young’s Home Hardware has been a mutually beneficial one, with more than $5,000 raised for CSGW. Funds raised by the program are used to pay Tipster rewards and to increase awareness about Crime Stoppers.

The CSGW Board of Directors would like to thank Marty Young and his team at Young’s Home Hardware for hosting the 2018 Bucket Sale, and we look forward to seeing you at next year’s event!
