Guelph Shredding Event Sets Record

A new location and sponsors resulted in the most successful Guelph Shredding Event to date for Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW).

With Skyjack sponsoring the service provided by Wasteco and offering up the Skyjack parking lot to host the event, all funds raised at the Sept 14 event went directly to CSGW. The weather cooperated and the traffic was plentiful.

CSGW Volunteers on hand for the event include, from left, John Svensson, Chair Rick Beazley, Marlene Coughlin, Beth Burn, Marc Poland, Leesa Keleher, Dave Elloway and Wasteco representative Kirk Spencer.

Patrons were charged $5 per bankers box-sized collection of documents for shredding. The Wasteco truck ensured shredding was completed on site, with many individuals taking advantage of the opportunity to witness the documents being destroyed.

A small monitor indicates that the documents are completely destroyed in the on site truck.

For anyone who missed the Guelph event, they are able to join the CSGW crew in Mount Forest on Saturday October 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wellington North Fire Service – Mount Forest station parking lot.

Once again, volunteers will remove documents from your vehicle as you drive through the simple and fast drive-thru set up.

The Mount Forest event is sponsored by The Cooperators – Robert J. Cottel and Desjardins Insurance – Deryck West

We thank Wasteco and Skyjack for ensuring our Guelph event was an outstanding success!
