CSGW Reinstates Increased Reward for Suspicious Fire Tips

APRIL 26, 2017 – For Immediate Release

Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW) has once again offered an increased minimum reward for suspicious fires throughout the area.

The previous campaign, which ended on April 1, generated a great deal of interest from the public, prompting the program to revive the concept until June 1, 2017.

“The Board of Directors feels strongly about these incidents,” said Program Coordinator Sarah Bowers-Peter. “Someone has information regarding these cases and can help solve them anonymously through our program. With this incentive of an increased minimum reward, we hope they will provide that information, so no one else will have to lose property because of these fires. There is also a significant risk to our community fire fighters and other first responders that we would like to see come to an end.”

The minimum reward amount has once again been increased from $50 to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for the following suspicious fires:

CSGW will handle these tips in the same manner as all other tips; keeping the Tipster anonymous and their information confidential. Therefore, CSGW will not disclose whether or not a CSGW tip has assisted police with these investigations. This targeted reward campaign begins April 27, 2017 and concludes on June 1, 2017.

Anyone with information regarding these Suspicious Fires can contact CSGW at 1-800-222-TIPS or at www.csgw.tips. As Tipsters are anonymous, they do not have to speak with police or testify in court.
