The 2025 Lights & Sirens was another successful community event for Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW), Center Wellington Food Back, Wellington County OPP and Centre Wellington Fire Rescue (CWFR).

The event, held at Jefferson Arena in Elora, is the third time these first responders have joined forces to support CSGW and the local food bank. At 1:30 p.m. a family skate saw children and their families take the ice. At 2:30 p.m. the police and fire teams took over.

Command staff from WCOPP and CWFR were on hand to cheer on their respective teams.

The action wasn’t limited to the ice surface. In the lobby, CW Food Bank, Wellington County OPP, Safe Communities Wellington and CSGW had tables with representatives engaging with community members. In the case of CSGW, Board members sold 50/50 tickets.

While the Wellington Wild (OPP) won on the ice, Centre Wellington resident Darrel MacDonald won the CSGW 50/50, taking home $190.

A total of $862 was donated to CSGW and CW Food Bank, and 171 pounds of food was also donated to the Food Bank.
Thank you to CWFR and Wellington County OPP for making this annual event such a success! We’ll see you at Lights and Sirens next year!
