The free online session will be offered via Zoom on Thursday June 17 from 7 to 8 p.m. Preregistration is required.

It can be overwhelming to think of all the ways social media touches our lives, from children learning online, to connected with loved ones we cannot be with in person.

Parents Only! is the opportunity to ask all your social media and Crime Stoppers questions.

This event is different from previous Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington sessions because it will only be open to adults. This will give participants a secure forum to ask questions of Internet Child Exploitation investigator, Det. Hugh Currie of Guelph Police Service. He will draw from his vast experience in investigating child pornography and cybersafety.

Audience participation is welcome and questions can be submitted in advance at [email protected].

PLEASE NOTE, TIPS CANNOT BE SUBMITTED VIA EMAIL, CALL 1-800-222-TIPS or www.csgw.tips TO PROVIDE YOUR INFORMATION ANONYMOUSLY.

Questions can also be submitted during the hour-long session.

Preregistration for Parents Only! is required and can be done here.

Children are spending more time than ever online and their adults need to know what is safe and what is not. Online engagement is the easiest way for child predators and other criminals to connect with youth. It is also an opportunity for adults to learn what they can do to stop crime they observe online.

Parents Only! is not open to children and will not be recorded for future broadcast. If you know of someone who should register for this session, please share a link from this website or share on social media.

Be confident in your conversations around social media with your friends, family and most importantly, your child. You are their first line of defence.
