(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA) On August 28, 2005, human remains were discovered by a pedestrian walking in a wooden rest stop/picnic area on Highway 7, west of the Town of Rockwood Ontario.
Investigators identified the remains as female, and further examination revealed that prior to her death she experienced a broken left cheek, nose, and left eye socket that had healed. As a result of these injuries, she wore a two-tooth partial plate on her upper teeth. Her death was deemed as suspicious.
Through ongoing investigative efforts, and the use of investigative genetic genealogy, the OPP have now – 19 years later, been able to identify the female remains as Tammy Eileen PENNER of Chilliwack, B.C. She was 41 years old when she disappeared in February 2005, and it is believed someone had contact with her during her journey to Ontario.
The circumstances that led to her death are still unknown.
