Youth Fire Chief Winner Named

The first ever Youth Fire Chief contest winner was celebrated by Centre Wellington Fire Rescue (CWFR) and Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW).

The contest, where donors to CSGW between March 13-31, 2024 were automatically entered into a draw where the winner would be the Youth Fire Chief, was so well received that it will return.

CWFR Fire Chief Mulvey presents Youth Fire Chief Anand Kaur her certificate.

On April 10, Anand Kaur, a six-year-old from Township of Wellington North, was presented with a special fire helmet, a Chief’s shirt and a certificate to commemorate her day. The new chief assisted with fire control drills as well as a tour of the fire hall. She also learned about general fire safety and how to keep her family safe with safety planning.

Following a ride in a fire truck and a meet and greet with CWFR and CSGW representatives, the new fire chief was going to visit the municipal office and enjoy lunch.

The CSGW Board of Directors extend their thanks appreciation to CWFR for their enthusiasm in partnering for this event. What makes our community special is the ability to bring agencies together and support Community Safety.

We look forward to holding this event again the future. Keep checking www.csgw.tips to see when the next event is being held.
