CRIME OF THE WEEK – SEPTEMBER 04, 2023 – Attempted Fraud

(CITY OF GUELPH) On Wednesday August 16th 2023, two fraud attempts by the same individual occurred at two separate banks in the City of Guelph.

Both incidents occurred shortly before 5:00pm whereby the suspect tried to deposit a fake cheque at each of the two branch locations. The first attempt was at a bank located in downtown Guelph and the second was at a branch in the west end of Guelph.

The suspect is described as male, approximately 5’8” tall, 150 lbs with an olive complexion and dark slicked-back hair. He had thin facial hair and a birthmark on his nose. The vehicle he was driving is described as a silver GMC pickup truck.
