Lights & Sirens for CSGW, Foodbank

Usually lights and sirens means there is an emergency, but in this case, it’s a great collaboration between Wellington County OPP, Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue Service, Centre Wellington Foodbank and Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW).

Traditionally fire and police use lights and sirens to indicate their involvement in responding to an emergency in the community. Lights & Sirens in this case is a charity hockey game, to be held Sunday March 19, 2023 at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex in Fergus. This is the perfect event to wrap up your March Break.

It is a fundraiser for CSGW and CW Foodbank, as admission will be through a food or cash donation to the foodbank, or a cash donation to Crime Stoppers. The fun starts at 10 a.m. with a Family Skate, then moves into the hockey game at 11 a.m., a friendly clash between police and fire as they slash it out for hockey bragging rights in Centre Wellington.

CSGW will also have some fun for the kids, a 50/50 draw, and an information table for parents to learn more about the 5 Tips, 5 Ideas, 5 Signs around Human Trafficking and Cyber Safety.

Lights & Sirens will be a great opportunity to see your favorite first responders in a different setting, while learning about Centre Wellington Foodbank and CSGW. Representatives will be on hand to answer your questions about both organizations.
