Thanks to area residents and businesses, there was an outstanding response to the 2020 Mount Forest Shredding Event!
Between shredding funds, donations and CSGW mask sales, $3,296 was raised; a record for the sixth year of this important fundraising and awareness event.
While the outdoor event was held on a cool day, it was heartwarming to see the support from individuals who wanted to protect themselves from identity theft and support their local Crime Stoppers program. The Wasteco shredding truck arrived in Mount Forest ahead of schedule and the handful of eager customers were out of the drive through well before the 9 a.m. start. By noon, more than 120 vehicles had pulled through and the shredding truck was full!
Customers travelled from all over Wellington County and the City of Guelph for the final shredding event of the season. Supporters are urged to come back to www.csgw.tips next year to look for the 2021 dates.
The Mount Forest event was one of two fundraisers, the first being the Guelph shredding event, CSGW has been able to operate, with significant impacts to fundraising events due to COVID-19. Such outstanding support to these events is appreciate by the Board of Directors. The shredding event, which has always been a physically distanced event, was once again a safe way to professionally destroy your documents.
A hearty THANK YOU to Desjardins Insurance Deryck West and The Cooperators Agent Robert J. Cottell & Associations for sponsoring this important community service. Thank you Wasteco for their outstanding service once again!
