Online Presentation Now Available

Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW) is offering its range of public presentations with a bit of a twist; they are all available online.

A large part of Crime Stoppers mission is to increase awareness of the service we provide. We cannot do that without engaging with our community. With that in mind, we invite community groups, seniors groups, sports teams and our numerous schools to consider a presentation from CSGW. Not sure which one you are interested in? We’ll break them down for you.

Crime Stoppers 101
This is your introduction to Crime Stoppers. You will discover how Crime Stoppers was created, how the Tip process works and why keeping our Tipsters safe is so important to us. This presentation is approximately 45 minutes long and includes a question and answer segment at the end.

Seniors Crime Stoppers
This presentation is directed at our Senior population and the important role they play in keeping our communities safe. We look at crimes directed at Seniors and explain how our program started. This program is approximately 45 minutes long and includes a question and answer segment at the end.

Student Crime Stoppers
Students have their own communities at school and at home. In both communities, coming forward with information about crime can be difficult. We explain why it is so important to keep your communities safe. We also talk about crimes that impact students such as human trafficking. This is an interactive presentation that has students talking long after it ends. This program is approximately an hour long (depending on level of student interaction). *Suitable for Grades 5-12.

Educate Parents And Children Together (EPACT)
This award-winning presentation allows parents and youth to understand how human trafficking, cyber safety and child exploitation are connected and how Crime Stoppers can help stop these crimes against our young people. The online presentation will allow parents to log into the CSGW presentation on Human Trafficking while youth take part in the Cyber Safety talk. The groups then switch for age appropriate messaging. This is ideal for schools, youth groups, and sports teams as well as their families, mentors, coaches etc. EPACT is presented in partnership with Wellington County OPP and Guelph Police Service. This presentation is approximately two hours long and includes a question and answer segment at the end of each talk. *Youth must be 12 years of age or older.

Human Trafficking
This presentation sheds a light on the misunderstood yet prevalent crime of Human Trafficking, specifically Sex Trafficking. We discuss that this crime is happening within our communities and share how youth are susceptible to groomers. This is a challenging presentation; however, it is important to understand how to protect our young people and how Crime Stoppers plays a role in stopping this crime.

Each of these presentations is offered free of charge. Support materials can be provided, and we are happy to help you promote your CSGW presentation. We can host the online presentations or log into your hosted event. We will consider in person presentations on a case by case basis with all physically distanced requirements followed.
