Once again the residents of Mount Forest and surrounding area will have the opportunity to reduce the chance of falling victim to Identity Theft by shredding their documents.
The 2019 Mount Forest Shredding Event has been set for Saturday October 26 at the Wellington North Fire Service – Mount Forest, parking lot. It will start at 9 a.m. and wrap up at noon.
Bringing the Wasteco truck to Wellington North allows Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW) to increase awareness about Identity Theft and how easy it is for criminals to obtain your personal information. Shredding documents ensures your private and confidential papers are destroyed. Many businesses also use the Shredding Event to destroy expired files.
The event is a smooth execution for customers. Volunteers will remove the boxes from your car and you never have to leave your vehicle. Each banks box – sized amount of documents will be $5 to shred, with the proceeds going to CSGW.
Fundraising is crucial to CSGW as funds are required to pay Tipster rewards and to operate the program.
Appreciation goes to The Cooperators – Robert J. Cottel & Associates, Desjardins Insurance – Deryck West Agent in Mount Forest and Wasteco.
